For Scouts who are 14+ years old or 13 and have completed 8th grade.

2010 Hi-Adventure:  Sea Kayaking (Outer Banks)

In 2010, Troop 1097 sent two crews to Pamlico Sea Base in North Carolina. The crews packed sea kayaks with all the gear they needed for a week, and paddled 50 miles from Cape Lookout to Ocracoke Island, camping on the beach on the Outer Banks.

2009 Hi-Adventure:  Lenhok'sin (Goshen, VA)

A true mountaintop experience. Backpacking, Foxfire, Lumberjack, Rock climbing, Mountain Man, Kayaking, Native American, Mountain Biking, Caving, and Fishing. Trail food at Lenhok'sin is prepared by your crew on the trail.

2007 Hi-Adventure:  Coral Reef Sailing (Florida Keys)

A 40- to 50-foot sailing yacht was our home for a week. It has a large self-contained galley and dining area where you will prepare wholesome meals from the fresh or canned foods supplied by Sea Base, supplemented by fresh catches from trolling while underway. Your captain instructs you in navigation, fishing and sailing, and you remain on board for the entire trip. Snorkeling and fishing abound.

2006 Hi-Adventure:  Philmont Ranch (Taos, New Mexico)

Take a hike! The mountains of New Mexico offer the adventure that you have always dreamed about. Backpacking, rock climbing, western lore, living history, and the views from peaks over 10,000 feet tall will make memories that last a lifetime.
