Troop 1097 is located in the Black Hill District of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We meet each Thursday night during the school year and alternate Thursday nights in the summer from 7:30 to 9:00 at the IWLA Rockville Chapter. Occasionally we meet at other times or places for special programs. Attendance at Troop meetings is generally a prerequisite for participation in outings.

The Izaak Walton League of America is one of the oldest conservation organizations in the United States and has several locations in Maryland as well as in other states around the United States. We are sponsored by the Rockville Chapter of the IWLA. The address is:

Membership in Troop 1097, or in any Boy Scouts of America Troop, is open to any boy who is 11 to 18 years of age, or has completed the fifth grade, or has earned the Arrow of Light Award.
