As the Boy Scouts of America celebrates 100 years of Scouting in the United States, today’s youths will have the opportunity to experience a piece of the past.
Four vintage merit badges that will count toward rank advancement are being released for the centennial year only, giving Boy Scouts a hands-on opportunity to experience the exciting past of the BSA.
FEBRUARY 2010 Centennial Bulletin - This month’s bulletin kicks off the Centennial On-line store and provides an update on Centennial Parade and Camporee Registration. Also included: updated information on the National Hall of Leadership, Shining Light Across America and new Historical Merit Badges for the Centennial Year.
NATIONAL ARCHIVES CELEBRATING 100th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF BOY SCOUTING IN AMERICA
The National Archives is excited to announce that we will be hosting special events for the Boy Scouts this year in celebration of your 100th year anniversary!
Early Entrance Hours for Boy Scouts in Uniform and their Families July 23, 24, 25, 2010 8:30am -9:30am. Enter Through the Special Events Entrance on the Corner of 7th and Constitution Avenue, NW
Additionally, there is a special program at noon on July 26, 29, and 30 that features archival footage of Boy Scouts: "From the Vaults: 100 Years of the Boy Scouts" featuring archival footage of Boy Scouts selected from the holdings of the National Archives. (60 minutes) at the William G. McGowan Theater
